This 1966 Chevrolet Corvette convertible was modified during previous ownership in California in the 1960s, with work including enlarging the rear wheel arches and retrimming the interior with custom upholstery. Its 327ci V8 is paired with a Muncie four-speed manual transmission, and additional features include a removable hardtop, four-wheel disc brakes, and a Delco AM/FM radio. The car was recently acquired by the selling dealer, and subsequent work is said to have included paintwork and replacement of the carburetor, radiator, and tires. This modified C2 is offered with blue California license plates and a clean California title.
The car was finished in Rally Red (974AA) from the factory, and the rear wheel arches were enlarged under prior ownership according to the seller, who notes portions of the body were refinished in preparation for the sale. The car wears yellow-on-blue California plates and a removable hardtop, and additional photos of the paintwork, badging, taillights are shown in the gallery below.
Steel 15″ wheels wear full covers with simulated knock-offs and are wrapped in 205/75 Hankook white-stripe tires fitted in preparation for the sale. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes.
Trimmed from the factory in red vinyl (407BK), the interior features replacement white upholstery accented with red velour piping and inserts. Matching material was installed on the headliner, and a vertically mounted Delco AM/FM radio is retained in the center stack.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and a collection of supplementary gauges. The five-digit mechanical odometer indicates nearly 90k miles.
The 327ci V8 was rated at 300 horsepower from the factory and is mated with a Muncie four-speed manual transmission. Work performed in preparation for the sale is said to include the replacement of the carburetor and radiator.
The engine stamping shows 116619 which matches the last 6 digits of the VIN on the chassis tag. The HE suffix to the right corresponds with a 327ci/300hp V8 engine used in conjunction with a manual transmission.
